I've bought Acer 4501wlmi recently and everything is ok, just I don't like the "euro" and "dollar" keys to the left and to the right from the "up" button.
More useful buttons like insert or delete could be there (as I program very often). And it is more difficult to reach real insert and delete than them.

It seems, the keys emulate alt+numpad 8 and alt+numpad 6, and I cannot just press and keep them down to get a series of actions (I tried to assign special actions to these hot-keys).

Is there any way to make true "insert" or "delete" (or "home", "end") from them? So they would also work with "alt", "shift" and "control" keys, not just like hotkeys?

First, you have to uninstall ACER "Launch Manager". This util simulates those "stupid" keys and blocks to any key remapping. It also shows the green texts while you change volume, turning on/off WiFi by the "WiFi button" etc. Func of other spec. keys remains, just "Dollar", "Euro" and green texts dissappear. Then you can manualy through register hack or by free SharpKeys utility remap those keys to whatever you want. I chose PgUp and PgDn.
