Is it worthwhile purchasing an extended warranty for an acer notebook. Have previously Presario and Gateway notebooks and have had no problems.

This is really something you have to decide, for me I usually take the standard 1 year warranty and it is fine. My previous 4 year old acer travelmate still works like new, I only had the 1 year warranty and I have never had a problem with it. But you have to remember that all manufacturers will have lemon notebooks that will give endless trouble even though these are few and far between.

So it is like I said extended warranties can offer piece of mind (if something goes wrong) but are really up to the individual to decide upon if they want it or not.
