just spreading a little tidbit of knowledge i happened to learn while reloading an Emachine that the customer had to order disks fo the sake of trying i popped the disks in a spare Aspire 5315 i have laying around and what do you know it checked the BIOS and ID'd it as an ACER, validated it for installation. did the restore. and validated Win7Pro or what ever and gave it a unique OEM id different from the ID installed on the Emachine.

just a thought if you ever find yourself in a pinch, and I AM NOT ADVOCATING SOFTWARE PIRACY, so make sure to change your OEM key back to your legit key using one of the many keychangers out there.

    enjoy,
