Hello I am just wondering should the fan on my laptop be on all the time when the computer is only at 35 degrees, the bloody thing doesnt stop at all when i have it plugged into the main then when i am running on battery it perfects not a noise but then plug it back in and the noise from the fan start is not on at full whack but still very annoying.
Would anyone know how could i control the fan from running all the time when i am on main power?
Or else do anyone have a solution for this problems?
    Thanks a lot[V]

It may actually be the settings that Acer has programmed into the BIOS for CPU cooling. The HP NX8220 I just got has a 40 degree threshold, once it hits 40 degrees, the fan kicks in. But I also noticed that when running on AC, it does tend to stay on all the time running at low speed. I guess they didn't care about battery consumption since you're connected to the AC. If there's no setting in the BIOS regarding temp settings, then you're stuck with the current settings until someone hacks the BIOS or Acer releases a new version with change to the temp levels.

You can also try running a program that will under-volt your CPU so it runs cooler, therefore the fan won't kick in so much. The only problem is I don't know if it's safe for prolonged use.
