Working on an Acer Aspire 5002wlmi.

Not sure what it came with originally but I've been running a Turion 64 ML-40 (2.2GHz) without issue for a while.

I do know there's a ML-44 (2.4GHz, 1mb cache, single core) but I'd like to know if it's the fastest before I order one!

I'm not sure if the Athlon 64 Mobile is better either? AMN4000BKX5BU seems to be the fastest (2.6GHz, 1mb cache, single core) though I don't know what the difference is between the Athlon/Turion.

    Laptop uses S754.

Here's my motherboard info from CPU-Z:

Acer Lugano M, SIS 760GX chipset Rev 3.

Running the newest BIOS (3A32 2/20/06).

And yes I know I can get a newer laptop and upgrading my CPU won't do much for a performance increase but I'm dead set on making this the fastest it can be!

According to a Service Manual it was supposed to be sold only with either Sempron (Aspire 3000) of Turion (Aspire 5000).
I wouldn't even try A64 Mobile especially that its TDP is 63W compared to up to 35W of Turions.

Gotcha. Looks like the ML-44 is my best bet!

Next up is to mod a webcam and some better speakers in... :D
