Hi, I have an Acer Aspire 6920-6021, with 3 GB RAM right now. Vista's rating rates it at 4.5, my lowest score. Anyone know what's the fastest RAM my motherboard accepts? I'd like it to get to 5.9 if possible =)

You want to upgrade the size (to 4GB), or to RAM with improved frequency and latency..??

3-4 GB with the best performance I can get. I just don't wanna be limited in the rating by RAM.

Oh wow, looks fancy. Which 1 do I go for? They all seem to be clocked at 667 ...

    KHX5300S2LLK2/4G (2nd One)
First two are clocked at 667MHz, and the last two are clocked at 800MHz.

    A cheaper alternative....(and maybe better) :p

Or this PC2-6400 CL=5....should downclock to PC2-5300 CL=5 (same as the modules above)

OK awesome I'm getting them off eBay ... $10 bid so far for 2 GB, 1 day left. They WILL work in my laptop right? Because I know some RAM have weird indents on the side that don't fit certain laptops ...

And I heard if your RAM clock speed is more than your FSB or w/e it will have to downclock and you will actually lose performance.

Wait, wait... I don't know why you're putting so much stock in the Windows Experience Index. It's only a number, and it's not very representative of actual performance. Getting faster ram will really not do much for your performance. And getting another gig will only be advantageous is you're running 64 bit.

Well, it is obvious, that 4GB ram needs a x64 OS.

Lower latency ram provides quicker data fetch. Its not about the crappy WEI, but improved performance.

OP: Are you thinking of mixing different modules, if so, bad idea..!!
