Does the timeline series have this hardware??

"Due to an unresolved bug in the Linux kernel included in Alpha 6, it should not be used on Intel ethernet hardware handled by the e1000e driver (Intel GigE). Doing so may render your network hardware permanently inoperable"

Intrepid is old. I doubt anyone would be using 8.10 Alpha 6.

Then why does the link say Intrepid? I am using 9.10 Alpha 6, don't have that problem, but I haven't connect to a wired connection in Ubuntu and can't anyway.

8.10 is newer than 9.10? THIS IS STRANGE.
    MATHEMATICALLY FAIL.
I does use Ubuntu 64bit but use its Live Disc only.
I can grab my files out if Windows corrupted using the Ubuntu Disc. XD

I HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE FOR UBUNTU except using this method. LOL.

Sorry to revive this dead post, but I just wanted to alleviate OP's original concern. IIRC, the Timeline series does not use an Intel ethernet adaptor. The ethernet is atheros; the WiFi is Intel.
