Does anybody know if I can change my ferrari processor from the mobile athlon64 2800 to something like a mobile athlon64 4000?

As long as the pin layout and voltage requirements for the ships are the same, you should have any problem swapping. BUT, jumping the CPU from a 2800 to a 4000 may be too much for a speed difference for the system to handle properly, so there's a possibility is may not work. If it does, it may not work for long because of the huge speed difference.

    Hey Venombite,

What do you mean by "huge speed difference"? The mainboard of my desktop system work with an Athlon 900 or an Athlon 3000, as long as the chipset and the cooler are compatible. So wouldnt these 2 components be enough to upgrade my notebook? I see that the chipset for the ferrari 3200 is compatible even with Athlon64 FX. Can you be more clear?
