Hallo people,
I have read the threads concerning the ferrari 4005 and in almost all it is mentioned that the fan is always on. Is it the same with 4002 or due to the lower clockspeed is the cpu cooler and the fan runs less?

The Ferrari 4002 would have the same level of fan noise - the CPU isn't as high end, but it would put off the same amount of heat.
In my opinion, the MSI-1029 offers a better value than the Ferrari 4002. It also has the Turion MT processor (25W), which runs a lot cooler than the ML (35W) in the Ferrari. Give that a look. -
There were so many posts about fan noise with the Ferrari 4005 that I almost didn't buy one... but once I finally did I found that the noise issue is vastly overstated. The fan does run constantly but it is very quiet and practically unnoticeable. I have an older Gateway laptop that is much, much louder.

I agree with you The pro, i have the 4002 the fan is barely noticeable.

Well I'm guilty of complaining about the fan noise on the Ferrari 4005 - but I don't even notice it anymore to be quite honest. It's was only noticeable to me at first, because my previous one (G-3) NEVER came on. And seriously you could have fried an egg on that notebook sometimes, as I would often work late at night - and would rest it on a big down comforter for hours at a time! (Bad I know) I'm trying to find a suitable laptop table for my Ferrari when I work into the wee hours, but haven't found one yet.

Yeah but its MSI!
Ever RMA anything with MSI?
You don't want to buy MSI products.
Acer has a very good RMA department just like HP/Compaq, IBM.
