    Hi there,

    First post and problems unfortunately.

I recently downloaded all the updates for XP to bring it up to date. I noticed that the sleep function failed to work. As I had nothing to loose I installed Vista....checked sleep and hibernate, and it all worked fine. Then I downloaded all the windows updates....and guess what....it failed to sleep!

So, I reinstalled using the system restore and put my laptop back to as it was when I first got it. Worked fine.....then downloaded some considerable XP updates, and.......sleep fails to work again.

Contacted support and after a week get told 'uninstall the windows update that is causing the problem'!!!! What kind of support is that!

So I am clutching at straws now, and getting very annoyed. I am wondering if the epower management will work on these laptops, as it is not installed from the restore disk, but have seen the threads on this....

If anybody can help it will be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Mark

Not updating XP is not exactly secure, but I guess it is one way to go! I have been playing with Vista, and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. There is no continuity to it.....

As for epowermanagement, that does not work on the 4005WLMi..... I downloaded it last night and had the stop sign like someone else reported on here...
