    f 4005 battery

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Hello!!

My Acer F4005 is about 3 months old and I installed Mobilmeter to monitor teh temperature wattage etc on my computer.
My battrey indicator says the batter has a 7% wear level to it. What a heck this mean? I mean I know it show a recharge capabilities of the battery but is there any way to improve the wear level on it or a 7% is normal?
Shall I charge it up all the time and run it down all the way ? Where is the point to worth to charge it up? Win xp reminds me at about 10% charge left to recharge. Do it that point or drain it till I can not even turn on the computer?
What is the best way to deal with it?
Also is it possible to get just a plastic casing of the battery without the inner parts? I mostly using my c. plugged in but without battery there is a gaping hole in the back.
One more thing anybody ever considered to put the ac adapter inside like an empty battery casing? I know you have to manifacture it that way but I would be happy to buy one, so I do not have to carry the ac adapter with me?!?

    Thanks

    Triplax

What do you mean stops? The fan stops, or a HDD or what? I turned off my wifi at boot up so I have to turn it on by pressing the little ornage button on the front. I think while is blinking actually the wifi is not working because I can not reach the internet. I think this time is needed to actually start up the wireless antenna end the coresponding drivers.

The wear level shows the...well the wear level of the battery. Li-ion batteries over time and use loose their capacity to hold charge. The life of the battery depends on usage and the battery itself. Some last years and years while others might crap out much sooner. So the mobile meter readings in your case shows 7% wear. It is not really an important number unless you are experiencing shorter battery life than expected or other battery related issues.

You can do a charge recharge cycle(complete discharge) but its effectiveness is debatable.

Regarding the battery cover, it is a good idea maybe there are companies out there making such a thing but none that I know of. Same is the case with the A/C power enclosure.
