Hi everyone.I am new on the forum and i need some help here.Just get a new AMD TK42 cpu in my Ferrari one it works but it boot always at 1.2 Mhz..
There is no way i can run it up to 1.6 as it should. With AMD overdrive or RM clock the best i can have is to run it at 1.4 (multiplier X 7).If i go further the system crash!!
    Any idea??Please help
    Thank you

If the CPU microcode is not supported/recognized by BIOS it's possible that voltage is not increased above certain level which would explain why it crashed at higher multipliers.
Make sure your BIOS is up to date- if not- update.
If this doesn't help (and your BIOS is Phoenix) post in kizwan's thread to check if he can update BIOS with your CPU's microcode.

to get your cpu working do the following:

Go to profiles tick the very bottom box, select the highest VID ad FID values from the drop down lists
    Select the maximal performance profile
    tick use p state transitions
tick the very bottom option X8 I believe and click apply
Go back to the profiles screen and select maximal performance from all drop down lists and click apply

    Hopefully this helps....

hi majorwedgy i tried this combination unfortunately at least on my machine it crah after few seconds.i shall make some more attempt but i belive the only solution at this point is to get a modied bios from kizwans.the voltage should not be an issue 1 volt should be sufficient to run tk42 as well heat is not a problem tk42 at 1.2 is even cooler than l310.power supply also should not be a problem i see in other forum someone get run turion on this machine..i am almost sure that the bios is doing the damage.i shall keep all posted if any progres

could be that your tk42 isnt as clean a cpu as the one i had, since you get variations between cpus within the same family. i used the most up to date bios on acer website and nothing more so dont think that is your issue.

    any updates?

i've been running a TL-60 in mine for a while but have just bought a TK-42 for it's lower TDP. The max I can run the TL-60 at is 1.4 before thermal shutdown. Plus, before it get's into windows, it's running a 2.0 which can sometimes lead to a shutdown before login. It also doesn't always like to boot on battery power so am hoping the TK-42 will work a little better!
