    Okay,

so I am liking the Ferrari a lot. But, to increase battery life I was wondering if you could upgrade/change the processor to an Turion MT-40 (do they use the same slots as the ML Turions). Also, I noticed it comes with single-channel DDR-333 RAM and I wanted to know if I buy some DDR-400 RAM will it be compatible? Please help I am almost to the point of making my decision. Thanks.

AMD skipped on DDR2 didn't they? They'll be going to DDR3 when its out I think.

As for the processor - I'm not sure but its gonna void the warranty

Not really worried about warranty on laptops, I know it may sound stupid, but I can usually fix them myself.

Both the ML & MT are of the same pin configuration. The only issue might be whether the BIOS will recognise & support the Turion MT. Turions do not support dual channel RAM, but DDR 400 might work but not 100% sure.

I'd be careful when putting in 400MHz RAM - you may have some stability issues when using the faster than recommended RAM.

Warranty is International 1yr on the Ferrari - I don't know how their repair service is.

Also, the ML37 processor is really fast - I don't think I'd upgrade if I were you. Plus, the BIOS may not support MT's - as others have said.

The ML-37 is fast yes, but the MT-37 is just as fast and does not consume as much power, if both chips are the same pin configuration then why wouldn't the BIOS support the chips. The AMD's run on the same technology, just the MT runs with less power. The ATI chipset and the Acer bios support 400 MHZ RAM, so as far as power and compatibility with the faster RAM and the processor this should not be a problem.

MT-37 is not as fast as ML-37 even though they are both rated at the same level. Performance decreases as power consumption is reduced. ddr400 doesn't work at 200fsb on my ferrai, not sure about others though.
