Ok, here we go, acer 3810tz :

1.Laptop turned off -> charger unplugged -> turned on after 15h, battery bar:
    99,99-93,0= 6,99% of drain

2.Laptop turned off -> charger stays plugged -> turned on after 15h, battery bar:
    99,7-99,0= 0,7% of drain

3.Charger unplugged (laptop goes to on battery mode) -> laptop turned off ->
-> turned on after 48h, battery bar:
    98,0-97,0= 1,0% of drain

    Conclusion:

There seems to be a bug in BIOS power managment, so:
    1. Unplug charger, laptop goes to on battery mode (green leaf).
    2. Turn off laptop

Interesting... I wonder why your post hasn't attracted any attention.

What was the point of case 2? Did you unplug eventually after you turned off the laptop? Otherwise the battery is still discharging, it's just being charged by the A/C at the same time.

Case 1 vs 3 is good to know though.

I just wanted to be sure that connected charger does not cause excessive drain.
You are right: battery charges at the same time and the battery drain is minimal.

On my 5810T i use to loose 2% per night 10hrs while shutdown , a/c power off , but after disabling "wake on lan" in the bios, I can go 2 days with no drain and then a 2% drop , once battery charge is below 96% the battery will start to charge.
