Question, Had an Acer Aspire V3-551 about 4 months and not used all that much in that time period. It recently had the black screen of death and Best Buy insisted it was the main board and they had to send it to be repaired, and so they did. I got it back, it said invalid serial number invalid key wouldnt activate windows.... it was just acting strange. I had it on my hard top desk and left the room. About 30 minutes later I started smelling hot plastic burning smell. I saw the laptop blue screening and rebooting over and over. When I went to pick it up to release the battery and power cord the vent was so hot, it melted in as I touched it. I tried once to get BB to replace it as Acer didnt want to be bothered and neither did BB even right after I got it and had persistant issues they said was all my equipment when it was proven to be the laptop. Any advice ? I feel this should be replaced for two reasons, one being its cheaper in the long run for them to pay repairs I would think and two there is no worry of burning down my house cause I have an acer.
