I have a acer aspire 5502 laptop, which has 2 partitions c & d, i want to format only the c drive and reinstall xp into it. i do not have any xp install cd. what i have r 4 recovery discs which i created at the time of installation. my D drive has a lot of data which i do not want to touch. How do i get c formatted and reinstall XP on it using the recovery disks without touching the d drive.

Does using the recovery disks remove data on drive also. ?

    Please help. Thanks

    Tis true. D is safe.

Recovery will leave D intact. With all your valuable files etc.

Recovery plays with the C partition only (your OS).
