Hey guys, after a lot of effort and research with no positive outcome, I decided to sign up to this forum to hopefully get an answer to my issue. Here's the situation:

I decided to format my Aspire One D250 with a USB pen drive. I followed all these steps ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Vt_8p0V ... re=related). Somehow the netbook didn't detected any C: drive while I was in the boot screen to install XP. So I decided to verify if there was something wrong in the bios causing that issue, and noticed there was a setting to boot as "AHCI". I was wondering if that could have been the problem and changed it to IDE. Booted it again and it detected the drive where the existing XP was installed. Decided to format it with the IDE setting, and did so with success. Now to the drivers.

I installed every single driver with success except for the chipset and the webcam (I think the webcam drivers can be installed successfully if the chipset driver installs). After I install the chipset, it asks me to reboot the system... rebooted it.

The issue is: the pc doesn't boot into windows... it gives me a BSOD and quickly disappears and starts again from the boot screen. This happens repeatedly without booting to windows.Went back in the bios settings, tried to change it back to AHCI (I know it won't work, but with hope, I tried it) and obviously it didn't work. Changed the setting back to IDE. The only way I can have the netbook boot into windows again is selecting "Last known configuration that worked". If I do so, the chipset remains to be installed.

I downloaded the SATA drivers from Acer's website but the installer says "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software. Setup will now exit".

Does anyone know how to fix this issue? I tried googling some answers but couldn't figure it out.

I'm having a similar problem on an eMachines em250. I slipstreamed the ACHI drivers in to my XP install CD although installed in IDE mode. Maybe I should have installed in ACHI mode. If I try to boot in ACHI mode it blue screens, no chipset driver. In IDE mode it boots with no chipset driver. After installing chipset it blue screens. I can't install ACHI drivers because I receive the same error as above, "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software. Setup will now exit".

    What next?

Guys you have to reflash the bios to version 1.02.

Then the chipset behaves and loads the driver as normal.

You will have to switch back to IDE mode (not ACHI) if you didnt load from floppy or slipstream in the sata driver. This setting flicks back when you flash the bios.

Not sure if its worth updating the BIOS again after.

I was using an XP with the wrong ACHI drivers so I slipstreamed the ones from the Acer website and I could install ok. I didn't get round to posting the results at the time.

    Hi all,

I've only joined up to this forum to post a solution to this problem with chipset drivers on the D250.

I tried all of the solutions i could find on the internet, however i found by rolling the BIOS back to the oldest version (v1.07), all of my problems are now solved!

    Hope that helps someone!
