Okay earlier todayu I was using my laptop and it was working fine but when I tried to operate it at another location the only thing I was able to get was a black screen. Taking it back to my room, I figured that maybe it was the power source and retryed it in my room but to not avail it repeated the same thing. Finally fed up with my notebook and after trying what my User's Manual suggestted I call Acer technical lines. After my technician had me try a few things, my notebook still refused to come on. What do you think is it time to buy another laptop.

Pure coincidence or something came loose (a connector inside the laptop?) maybe the first time you moved it to another location. Or you have "ghosts in the machine"

Does the laptop power on- is the green led on and/or the fan kicks in?
If that's the case but there is no BIOS POST- try unplugging it from AC power and taking out the battery when the laptop is ON.
It may sound drastic but I had similar problem once or twice and it solved it- after this just put the battery back, plug the power cord and try again to power the unit up.

I know this solution sounds silly but it won't do no harm even if it doesn't help a bit. It's like pulling the power plug of the desktop PC.
