I think!
Looks dodgy this one, but I'd be immensely grateful if anyone has any ideas or can even point me in the right direction. Basically I was streaming a video (on a less than reputable site I might add!) when my acer laptop just went blank. The power light stayed on and everything seemed normal except the screen going black. Left it for a while, got impatient & turned it off by holding down the power button. Turned it back on & it sounds like it's about to go into a reboot & then it doesn't. It just does nothing. The light just stays on a constant blue & there's no sounds or anything. I let the battery run down and tried again with the same results. I also tried holding f8 & that does nothing either.
Help!
I'm using windows 7 btw

Try repeatedly press F8 when you see the Acer splash screen, go in the safe mode without internet connection run the antivirus, anti malwares programs you have. Download this small program to see if there is any unusual program is running in the background.
Also make a bootable cd of Avira Rescue System so that it starts automatically after a restart, there is already an ISO file. https://www.avira.com/en/download/product/avira-rescue-system
What browser were you using last time you could enter the laptop? -
Google Chrome.
I can't get into safe mode, the thing is dead. A guy on another forum suggested the motherboard could be blown. I'm kinda thinking just cut my losses & purchase a new laptop. The old girl had a good innings anyway!
Thanks for your reply though mate -
If motherboard is dead you will not see any lights or hear noises.
