First of all, Hello people.
I'm new here and I'd like to ask about the full system backup.
(and yes, im using Acer eRecovery)
If I create a backup, Is the OS backed up?
Or It justs backs up the files that I've installed and my documents and stuff?
I have a Acer Aspire 2920, and I'd like to back up my Vista Home Premium incase that I need it back because I want to install Ubuntu 9.10 on it.
Ubuntu is great for documents and internet since I dont want anything else in the way like viruses and malware or other bugs and worms.
And yes, my Vista Home Premium is LICENSED.
So, What do I need to do to back up my OS?

Please try to be a little more patient and google before asking questions.
Launch Acer eRecovery and burn Acer factory default backup disk, like shown in this manual. This will include imagine of factory install of operating system without any of your files. You can restore from it even if your hard drive is completely wiped. If you don't want to burn the actual DVDs you can save backup to DVD image files. Follow guide here and then burn them to DVDs on another machine.
On the other hand, you can always dual-boot Ubuntu and Windows. Just follow onscreen instructions while installing Ubuntu (dont choose "using whole disk" for installation. Choose something like "use avaliable space")

That's the problem with Vista Home Premium - no option in Windows Backup for a full system image.
Thankfully, Windows 7 Home Premium fixes that. Upgrade already! :3 -
I'm still confused...
Do I need to create a FULL SYSTEM BACKUP or an INCREMENTAL BACKUP to save my Windows Vista Home Premium?
Argh!
And no, I dont want Windows Vista in my way and I want to delete it.
If I want it back then i'll run the backup disk (If it has the OS in it...hopefully.)
If I dual boot Ubuntu, Ubuntu will certainly be running slowly because of the HDD.
If I installed Vista first, it will install it into the inner part of the HDD.
So, it runs faster.
If I then install Ubuntu, it will be very slow.
HELP!

According to the 2920 User's Guide from Acer's support site, the option you want is "System Backup to optical disc." That should burn to DVD the state your laptop was in when you first turned it on.
Here's a screenshot showing the option you need (ignore the 2nd arrow):
Full System Backup, Do they include OS?
