I thought I'd start this thread to manage the list of games that people have sucessfully run on their beloved Acer 1410 notebooks.
Please list the game, frame rates if possible, graphics detail, and anything special you had to do to get it to run, and CPU with any overclocks.
As far as I know there are three CPU's that come with the 1410:
- SU2300 Celeron Dual Core 1.2GHz
- SU3500 Core 2 Solo 1.4GHz
- Celeron M 743 1.3GHz
This thread was started by wbbgjr but figured it would be good to maintain the full list in the first post.
Be sure to list games that you weren't able to get to run too, so other's are aware not to bother, or maybe they can offer insight on how to get it to run.
When commenting, please include:
- resolution if not native (1366x768) otherwise assumed native
- CPU Overclock if any
- Windows Version with 32-bit or 64-bit
NBR Member "Der_mali" put together a nice driver and reference list if you want to update drivers or tweak your machine.

This post is for 1810 Acers:
Below is from user ecchi:
I changed my system a bit too, for what it is worth, but only the hard drive and OS. Here are my specs:
AS1810T, SU7300 @ 1.3 GHz
2x2GB Elpida PC2-6400 (came stock, lucky me)
Seagate 7200.4 320GB
OS is Windows 7 Ultimate x64. GMA aspect ratio option is set to letterbox for 4:3 resolutions.
Dawn of War Gold pack w/ Winter Assault
1024x768, all highest settings, runs great.
Company of Heroes
Only tried patching up to v.2.101
800x600, lowest settings, playable.
Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars
v.1.0
800x600, all lowest settings, playable.
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3
800x600, all lowest settings, playable.
Raiden III
windowed mode, x1.0 screen size
Full speed but there is a weird thing where only part of the player ship is rendered.
Shikigami no shiro III
windowed mode, x1.0 screen size
Full speed, perfect!
I tried a handful of emulators also.
ePSXe v.1.7.0
Crashes on startup. Almost certain to be simply Win7 incompatibility.
update: I think I only forgot some plugins, now it is running but I cannot seem to configure it to run smoothly, which puzzles me since my old eeePC 900 w/ Celeron & GMA 900 could run it perfectly with hardly any configuration. I will keep trying...
SSF v.0.11 alpha
Crashes on startup. Almost certain to be Win7 incompatibility.
SSF 0.10 Alpha
Sega Saturn emulator also running very well in a true XP partition, it was neither working in W7, nor in Virtual XP mode.
MAME v.0.135 for Windows x64, command-line
Worked fine although I cannot get my USB gamepad to work in-game. It is recognized fine in the input config menu but stops working as soon I return to the game. Might not be a real problem if it turns out I forgot to specify some command-line parameter...
Ys I & II Eternal, Ys VI - The Ark of Napishtim, Ys - Oath in Felghana (ecchi)
Running beautifully in XP Professional x86. The latter two games in DX9 mode, high settings.
Other Users:
Final Burn Alpha (TalynOne)
SU7300, Multi Arcade Emulator including CPS1, CPS2, CPS3, Neo Geo, and many others - Tested CPS3 games all ran smoothly with no visible slowdown no matter what settings/filters were applied.
Flatout 1 & 2 (hkklife)
1810T, medium detail @ 1366x768 32-bit
NBA 2k10 (mogolfiero)
1810T, low detail @ 1366x768 playing smooth
Psychonauts (TalynOne)
SU7300, 800x600 all graphics options off is playable -

Thanks for doing it htwingnut!

Yeah, I can't get Team Fortress 2 or Half Life 2 running well on my SU3500. Too low a framerate. In fact I don't even think the original Half-Life runs too well (too much loading). Any help?
Killing Floor runs well at 800x600.
Dungeons and Dragons Online worked though I only did the tutorial so the performance may take a dip later. -
One suggestion for Half-Life 2, perhaps use the -dxlevel 70 (or 80 or 81 or 90 or 95) to use an older DirectX level of detail.
der mali claims how well Half-Life 2 runs, so hopefully he can pipe in and let us know. I'll give it a shot if/when I get a chance. -
I don't have 1410, but with my 4810TZ, SU4100 1.3Ghz dual core and GS45, I have no problems running NFS Porsche Unleashed with native resolution and maximum settings. Nice classic game!

Plants vs Zombies works perfectly.
Peggle Extreme does as well. Probably all versions of Peggle will work well.
Painkiller Black runs fine.
Battlefield Heroes is perfect.
Quake Live is perfect.
Urban Terror works but really struggles on servers with high player counts. That and the framerate is all over. Need help there.
I highly suggest GOG.com. Pretty much everything there should run on the SU3500 at least and it's all DRM free and comes with extras. I can confirm that all of their free games (Beneath a Steel Sky, Teenagent, and the other one definitely work).
I have Gothic II so I'll try it out.
I have a question, actually. Would bumping my RAM from 2 GB to 4 GB and going 64 bit really help my gaming performance much? I mean, RAM is certainly not the 1410's bottleneck and I don't like running anything more than maybe Google Chrome at most during a game. -

I would like to contribute my (brief) gaming experience, although it may not quite belong here since I have an 1810T with SU7300, and I did not find an equivalent thread. I nearly bought the old 1410T with SU3500 but I thought about it harder and decided to just go all-out. This is your thread htwingnut so it is up to you if you want to add a section to your original post for SU4100/SU7300 machines or just ignore this. But I think having the information may be useful for people still undecided on which machine to buy. I think the most awesome thing is that Company of Heroes can run at a playable speed (I would be disappointed if it wouldn't, since I sold my Everun Note to finance this baby, and that machine could run CoH despite being half the size of this).
I changed my system a bit too, for what it is worth, but only the hard drive and OS. Here are my specs:
AS1810T, SU7300 @ 1.3 GHz

Additional information:
I think this might be a common keyboard problem, but I think certain key combinations or pressing too many keys at once causes problems. In particular, pressing Arrow-down + Arrow-right + another key makes Arrow-down not work, so MAME and Raiden III were a bit unpleasant using the built-in keyboard. Using an USB gamepad with joy2key was fine. -
Company of Heroes isn't really playable on my SU3500. The game has a built in performance tester and while I could get a 28 FPS max, it was wildly inconsistent and would drop to half of that.
-
-
ecchi: I'm ok with that. Thanks for the benchmark info. Problem is that I believe the 1410 has a much lesser gaming performance. But just for the record, can you run 3DMark03 and/or 3DMark05 so we can do a comparison? BTW I like how you set up your games list so I will use that format as well.
Also, I'll give CoH a try as well. 25fps with CoH doesn't seem bad actually.
I'll add it in the second post in this thread (placeholder, guess it was worthwhile afterall). Just give me a little bit to copy, paste and reformat it! Thanks. (have two toddlers to manage atm) -
Well I'll confirm what doesn't work for me (1410 SU2300 Win7 Premium):
Team Fortress 2
Performance gets a big boost in forced DX81 mode, but it still isn't quite playable. Framerate drops to 10ish when the action picks up, 30ish when nothing's happening. Running at 640x480 has no perceptible improvement over native res.
Morrowind
This is the one that baffles me. Morrowind is only playable with the view distance set prohibitively close. This game is fluid at max settings 1024x768 on my old Turion64 1.8 with Radeon Xpress 200m, 1gig ram, XP SP3. So on an even crappier IGP than the 4500MHD I'm getting far better performance. Heh? -
Updated dual core to second post... I will try to get main title changed to include dual core.
-
TackMania Nations - Great freeware racer runs an auto system optimization on install and runs silky smooth and looks great on those settings on my SU7300 dual core (1810T).
-
Can someone try League of Legends? I doubt it'll run Allods, but thats something I would like to see.
-
Psychonauts - Playable in 800x600 with all graphics options off on 1810T (SU7300).
-
this one run really good -> http://psxemulator.gazaxian.com/
much better then ePSXe (for slow pc) -
Moderately old games but still some of my favorite arcade-style titles, Flatout 1 & 2 both run perfectly on my 1810T with the latest Intel video drivers for Win 7. I just finished a few rounds of Flatout 2 and it performed well at the native resolution (1366x768x32-bit color) with texture detail set to "medium".
-
May i add - Age Of Empires 2 !!!!
-
Final Burn Alpha - Multi Arcade Emulator including CPS1, CPS2, CPS3, Neo Geo, and many others - Tested CPS3 games all ran smoothly with no visible slowdown no matter what settings/filters were applied.
Test System: Acer 1810T-8638 (SU7300 dual core) -
-
Sure, check my signature .... Age of Empires 2 is pretty old.... no surprise that it runs on my AS1410
-
STALKER Call to Pripyat benchmark runs fine if you drop resolution to 1024x576 and set to static lighting.
Mimimum Detail
Medium Detail
Actual image at 1024x576 resolution and minimum detail, static lighting. Doesn't look too bad.
-
Some more (probably useless) information, since I am running these games from an XP partition on my SU7300 1810T... I think these games are well-known to be incompatible with Vista, and I know that Ys I & II has colour problems in W7.
Ys I & II Eternal, Ys VI - The Ark of Napishtim, Ys - Oath in Felghana
Running beautifully in XP Professional x86. The latter two games in DX9 mode, high settings.
SSF 0.10 Alpha Sega Saturn emulator also running very well in a true XP partition, it was neither working in W7, nor in Virtual XP mode. -
AS1810T -> NBA 2K10 at 1366x768 with all options set to low playing smooth!
-
bump for more working games!
-
No surprise, Guild Wars runs great. I have it on medium-high, no shadows, at 1280x720. I get like 25-35FPS. Counter-Strike Source runs ok on low, i get like 10-30FPS. Team Fortress 2 seems pretty unplayable.
-
Urban Terror does run on native res and medium texture detail on Arch Linux. I believe that there are some problems in the Win drivers, renaming ioUrbanTeror.exe to quake3.exe might help (drivers use names to detect weather or not to load an optimized profile).
-
HL2 plays awesome
-
Portal runs pretty smooth, at 1024x768, settings med-high.
Aspire 1410, su2300, stock except upgraded to 3GB of 667 ram.
Looking forward to upgrading to DDR 2 800 ram... but I'm unsure if i can get away with 4GB sticks. Acer says 2Gb max per slot. With prices dropping, you can pick up 4GB DDR2 800 sticks for about $150 on newegg. Anyone tried them to know if the 1410 is compatible? -
-
Plus dual channel > single channel
-
I just got my 1810TZ (SU4100) and I'll be sure to post all the games I try on here. You can also ask me to do specific games, just as long as I have time to try them out.
Cheers -
Steam is having a big sale this week on games (until Jan 3, I think), and I just picked up Audiosurf for $2.50 and Ghostbusters: The Game ($6.75, for my desktop). Might also pick up the Unreal pack for my 1410 & desktop for $13. I'll report back after trying it out. Steam's got a good selection of indie and older games that are good for the 1410/1810 series.
-
Rome Total War runs great on medium settings. Its only $2.50 on Steam. I also bought Medieval II Total War $5. Demo ran great on low, I'm hoping to give it a shot when it finishes downloading.
-
has anyone tested WoW on the 1410? just wondering if it'd be playable..nothing like raids or anything, just messing around doing dailies or farming or something?
-
bumping for more games!
-
I'm just wondering if Football Manager 10 and Age of Empires 3 will run on my 1810tz SU4100 with dual ram 4gb running at 800mhz
-
-
I've tested Football Manager 2010 it works even with 3D matches, just make sure you install directx 9 drivers when installing the game.
-
I've tried Heroes of Newerth, Cortex Command and Light of Altair.
Heroes of Newerth: Native res, low settings --> fps 30+
Cortex Command: 640x480 or 800x600, fps 15-30+
Light of Altair: Native res, normal settings, fps 30+
EDIT: Also, Phun, the fun little physics sandbox: Windowed, shaders ON, fps 20-30+ -
#1 Bump
#2 Could anyone please try "Allods Online"
Allods US ( http://allods.gpotato.com )
Allods EU ( http://allods.gpotato.eu )
It's a free-to-play MMO, the download weighs in at around 2,5 Gigs.
a Telco over here has a limited time offer of a subsidized 1410T with a SU2300, 2 GB of RAM, 320 GB HDD, Win7 HP x64 and an internal 3G modem.
I would be interested in native rez FPS.
It doesn't have to run stellarly, just native rez, low settings...for a little solo questing.
(Quick) Help would be much apreciated as there is - like i said - a limited window of oportunity for me to get it at all at an afordable price for me. -
Hi frens...
Any more games that can be Played on the 1410 & 1810T....??
Thanks -
Portal, and you can get it free on Steam until May 24
