    Hi All,

I tested the new Gemstone line-up in the mall and found it to feel very solid. Could owners tell me about the quality - how do these hold up so far?

I have been dissuading people from buying lower cost Acers before the gemstones came out because they had so many issues. But now, I feel like this is a completely new generation and the experience with the older lineup is not relevant anymore.

Please also post results in the quality poll. Or perhaps there should be a new quality poll, given that the original one is already pretty old?

    cheers!

Yes, very good quality. My previous laptop was a Dell, and it was nothing compared to this one (Acer 5920). Only the touchpad is a dissapointment, but besides that, it feels very solid.

For me touchpad is very good. Only the touchpad keys should be more... "friendly" - they are very noisy and hard to use :(
