The black spot on the screen isn't a cluster of dead pixels. It's a thunderfly that got into my screen. It stopped moving... Am I screwed?

Into your screen? I don't understand...that's a sealed unit.

Such a bad luck...
I don't think you can do sth... -
i had something like that with a newish ipod ....went to sell it on ebay and when i was cleaning it i noticed a spec of dust smack bang in the centre of the screen, not on the actual screen but on the underside of the casing
it was really noticable and it bugged the sh@t out of me so i started tapping it but it wouldnt budge so i started whacking it frustration and another piece of dust appeared .....arghhhhhh!!!!!
so much for ipods being sealed units!
but that fly inside the screen would have me ripping my notebook apart! -
I didn't think that was possible
But still you two are gonna spend some time together so maybe it's time to give her a name or something
Sorry for joking but I doubt it's gonna be easy to get rid of... -
It's like a BIG Dead PIXEL
-
Called Acer support... They won't fix it under warranty. It would cost me around 100 euro to make them do it. Not gonna spend that amount of money on a laptop of 535 euro...
Let's hope it somehow disappears, but I have little hope. -
That's only you have -
you could put the unit on its side and try gently tapping the screen, you may be able to get it to move towards the edge
-
Oh CRAP!!!
I just posted a message about the same problem just before I noticed this post.
Have you managed to get rid of your little friend?
I have named mine Tommy!!!
I have the same issue too.
FiSH -
Well worse comes to worse it'll just be like everything else and pretty soon you'll subconsciously ignore it as if it was part of your surroundings..
-
I noticed that there are little splits at the borders of the screen. Probably he got trough there. Maybe it would help when I do a blow with compressed air somewhere between those splits?
It's a few weeks now and I can't get used to it -
100 euros might me worth it... if it really is bugging you.
