Back in 2005, I bought an Acer Ferrari 4005WLMI. I sold it to a friend after a few months, as I was going from a gaming laptop to a desktop and laptop (I wanted a smaller Thinkpad).

My friend just moved to Chicago, and in his downsizing from a house to an apartment, gave this and a few other things to me to either keep, recycle, or whatever.

The laptop's in pristine condition, other than there not being a battery (they both died in the 9 years). Other than the poor performance thanks to the single core processor, it's a usable system.

In 2007 I bought an Acer Aspire 5100, that has a dual core Turion in it. It was sold to a family friend. I just got that back this weekend to recycle, as its LCD went out. It has a dual core Turion in it.

Is there any chance I can scavenge the X2 and throw it in the Ferrari?

No you can't - your Ferrari uses Turions based on socket 754 and 5100 newer Turions based on Socket S1.

I can't believe I didn't think to look at sockets...was too focused on chipsets.
