Hello,
I have an Acer Aspire 5251-1513:
AMD Phenom II x4 p920
Radeon HD 4250
Currently 2x1gig DDR3 PC8500. I just ordered 4gb(samsung 2x2gig, same specs).
Windows 7 64bit Ultimate
I was curious what kind of performance gains I could expect going from 2 to 4gigs. Would my IGP benefit from the doubled ram?
Usage: MMORPGs (5-6 game windows open at once, lags), HD movies, surfing/music/chatting, and some current games in low settings

Probably quite a big improvement- especially in general usage.
You could in theory do with 2GB if you really optimized Windows services and start-up items but 4GB should give you much more comfort.
Can't say anything about the games though- I'd have to know if RAM or IGP is a limiting factor- if IGP is too slow more RAM won't help but if lags are caused by lack of RAM and loading textures from HDD it's a different story. -
You must have upgraded the OS because typically if the system has a 64 bit OS installed it tends to come with 4 gb of ram at least.
Going from 2gb to 4gb, Aspire 5251
