I checked the online sellers of Acer laptops based on their website, and most do not have a large selection... I was looking for the Travelmate 8000, but didnt see it at any of them (buy.com etc etc).. Any suggestions? Too bad you cant order directly from them. Its like they make it harder to make money... :(

Harmony is selling the 1.6ghz centrion model, and I've found it elsewhere. Problem is they just announced the 2ghz dothan model so no one has that listed for pre-order yet. We'll have to wait and see.

Hopefully test units will be in CompUSA again like the 800 was, I want to get some hands on testing.

Good call. They do have them all. Allows me to plan what I want based on price now as well. Seeing as the Ferrari 3200 is about $800 less than the Travelmate 8006 I might just swing that way instead ;)

Thanks for the info. I had checked the link from the acer website to CDW but it, I now see, linked to the "specials" and didn't show all the Acer equipment they carried. Stupid on Acer's part...
