the fan is not on the right hand side no no toasty mouse hand
it runs well cool and quiet like a mouse

Yea... my net in my uni room is buggered so i cant dl 3dmark but i was able to run AOE3 on full setting in 1024x768 fine... ran smooth... so i hope that gives an idea of how well the geforce works...

I`m very interested, where did you buy it and can u post some pics?
-

You might want to try the modded drivers for your Go7600 from www.tweaksrus.com - the latest 84.12's are excellent.

I would be interested in the benches as soon as you can, because I changed my choice to a 5672 because of the release delay of the GF7600 model
benches with default drivers would be appreciated too -
k dl'ing 3dmark 05 5 now on my mates and gonna copy it to cd and put it on 5650... its specs are:
1gig ram
1.6 core duo
nvidia geforce 5650 256mb dedicated vram
15.4 cristalbrite screen
give me bout an hour should have em up here i can take pics but only with webcam :/ ill put some up too tho -
What are your general impresions of the laptop? How long does the battery last? What is the build quality like? Thanks
-
Battery life will be appreciated!
-
MMM batterys ok... lasts about 3 hours but the pc slows down abit when u unplug it... like i was playing F.E.A.R on it unplugged and the frame rate pretty much halfed... it runs cool, it feels sturdy enough, but im sure the case on my dell inspiron 6000 was thicker. I just overclocked the graphics card from 450/350 to 483/428 ran 3dmark fine, still runs cool, got a score of 4078 which is pretty decent for a laptop of this price, especially considering it comes with digital tv built in and 3g wireless, screen's alright same as the vaio's bit of glare if ur playing on somethin with a dark background but most the time i've had no issues with it, the fans on the left hand side which is cool, but so are the usb ports so i got to use the ports at the back for the mouse which i find annoyin but thats about it

Glad to see you're getting on well with your 5650 as I'm thinking of buying one.
Have you tried out the DVD burner yet? I have read in this forum that users of the 5670 have had problems with theres. -
Tdes, do you mind if I ask from where you purchased your laptop?
-
yea i got it from a shop called user friendly computers ( www.userf.co.uk) cause they live down the road from me and are listed on the acer.co.uk website as a supported retailer, i went to them before it was released and preordered it... yea i used the dvd burner when i made my backup dvd thing when i first loaded my pc... it seemed to work fine it didnt say what speed it was running at, but it was fast enough for me.... it burnt about 4 gig in about 20-30mins... i was gonna get the 5670 but i heard about the geforce card in this one and am more of a geforce man, so i held out and got this one, im glad i did cause it's been doing great for me, runs cool, good frame rate decent battery life, i only really use it for gaming and can run F.E.A.R pretty much on max setting in 1024x768... even when i over clocked the graphics card it was still cool... which i was gonna ask about, im not the most computer knowledgable person so i was wondering if i overclock my graphics card with no sign of visual corruption and no noticeable difference in temperature, will it cause my gfx card to operate worse of an extended period of time (i.e. 2 years)? or can i just leave it permenently overclocked provided the temperature doesnt get too hot...

actually when comparing the graphics card its really up against the x1400 which is on the similar specced 5670 series.
looks like it beats the x1400 easily although something says I have a modified driver thats not supposed to support the x1400 fiddled by acer
The dvd burns the recovery off at about 2x, there seems to be an issue with the included software that doesnt recognise disc speeds properly
when installing nero or anything else all speeds (up to 8x) are available and work fine. -
it was about 3500 before overclocking, but yea the 7600 is the equivalent of radeons x1400 not the x1600, plus its cheaper so im happy

Hey Tdes I wonder how much faster your 7600 is than my x1400
I have loaded the Omega drivers (as they also do nvidia ones) and I more than doubled my fps in F.E.A.R.
it runs great now (if a fair bit warmer LOL)
not tried overclocking yet but have the facility to have a blast now
I think I will overclock if I feel I need any extra performance in new games, or maybe just to run FEAR Faster
great to hear you are happy with the laptop, these things are so pretty -

yeah from the benchmarks the 7600 leaves my x1400 standing
-
hey, does anyone know if the 7600go is mxm?
-
Just thought i would mention... according to this thread:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=39568
The
x1400=7400
and
x1600=7600
which is what i thought it was anyway... -

aw man something tells me I should have waited for the 7600 machine, Yeah I have 2x the ram, and larger hard disk, but the graphics boost is very important, I suppose I must pay for my impatience
I still love my 5672wlmi though, and it does rock with HL2 and I REALLY think that a future optimisation of FEAR's rendering engine will also yield better perofrmance, its almost as i FEAR is written like 3dmark, i.e. take a card to its limits instead of acheiving the best eyecandy with the least power, like HL2 does, you can make HL2 look good on an old Geforce 5600!!!!
these laptops are great though, what I am wondering is the 5652wlmi able to take 4gb ram? because that would make it the same motherboard as mine, which would mean I could possibly change the mobo if I cant change the graphics card
pictures all round of 5650 please -
we want pictures and a review if possible
I hope I can buy one of those
Got my 5650 with geforce 7600 today!
