It seems great, few very little flaws, but nothing to bad.

So, Now I have to think ahead, or I dont have to, but I will.

I am wondering, will I get 3 years out of it.

I kind of think yes, as one of my teachers had his dell for 4 years, and its nothing great, but it isnt to bad either.

    1-Good speed
2-Slows down a bit, but nothing great
3-slows down enough to start really notcing
4-Just good enough for word processing.

That is my timeline, any comments?

    Specs
    AMD Turion 2GHz
512MB Ram (Gonna upgrade to 1gb in the summer)
    60GB 5400RPM HD

I really do think that timeline I made wil be true, but I will find out.

Coments on anything I said, post!

Very subjective question, what do you hope to be doing with it in three years? Will it still be working, well depends how good you take care of it.

I think a lot of people mistake what I mean whenever I ask this question, I most word it wrong or something.

What I want to know is, If I baby it for 2-3 years, will I still be able to boot it, and do my everyday tasks? I mean, one of my teachers as a 4 year old that seems fine, some more ram wouldn't hurt, because he only has 128 and is running Win XP with Vista transformation, so there is a good example. If I have enough ram, I will get alright speeds for 2-3 years. It only really has to be 2-3 years, as I will have a job then, and can afford a nicer one anyway.

Also, Yes I ment ML, Sorry for that mistake. And no its not X2.
Which I also need to comment on, as I mean... X2 is really only for people that want to do harcore multi-task, which is not me. So I don't really need it anyway.

    Well...

Should be easily capable of booting in 2-3 years time, hopefully it will be working perfectly still. However, laptops can die after a period of time just because, unfortunately electrical components aren't foolproof, they do fail.

What kind of Warranty did you get?

I see, I got the 3year Acer/Store warranty. When i need it they decided to send it to Acer, or work on it themseleves.

Shouldn't be a huge issue then, that will cover you from any issues with components, as long as you don't throw it around (I doubt the warranty covers damage caused by the user) it should work just fine.

Yup, They should be pretty good. It shouldnt brake anyway.

But either way, I mean speed wise. As I am not a big gamer, and dont do a lot of things that require a lot of power, besides the odd photoshop... It should last me just fine on speed for 2+ years.

It really will depend on what software you use and what you upgrade/don't upgrade.

In theory your machine will be just as fast 3 years from now as it is today, of course program upgrades generally seem to be a bit sloppy where performance is concerned, so will be slower depending on how much you upgrade.

Yea, I understand what you are saying.
But I don't change software to much, so i should be pretty good.
Well, Happy holidays. And thanks for all your help.
