I'm due to take delivery of a 5920 which it seems has the x3100 graphics card. This will be integrated so I'm wondering if there may be a free mxm port into which i can put a ge8600GT. (since most 5920 s seem to have a ge8xxx)

Is the only way of knowing to open the notebook up? Any advice in this regard would be much appreciated especially because I'm new to laptopping.

There is no way to upgrade 8600m GT to Aspire 5920G with X3100 due to fact that 5920G (PM965) has support for pcix x16 and 5920 is (GM965) with X3100.

yea, i was disappointed when I opened up my 5920 "i" only to find a desoldered pci-e x16 slot where the 8600 would be on the 5920 g models.
