Hey guys! I'll keep this short as possible.

I'm using my Aspire 2012WLMi w/1gb DDR for home recording, and recently purchased an external guitar effects processor. I won't go into it too much cos, obviously, this is a laptop forum :) but basically, my power supply is causing some kind of "ground loop" with my other gear (guitar processor, external firewire soundcard). So when I have things plugged in a certain way, I get horrendous amounts of noise, and rumbling when I move my mouse. If I unplug the laptop...noise goes away.

The manufacturer for my soundcard said if this happens, try "lifting" the ground on your laptop power supply. **Is this safe?**. Are Acer power supplies interchangeable (also have a 1501LCe here)? And is there any chance that a differen power supply might behave differently?

    Cheers :)
