Can anyone tell me the HD dimensions for the drive installed in my 3023. Is it a 2-inch drive or smaller?

Yes - it's a 2.5" drive (9.5mm height as posted). If you are upgrading the drive, then the drives that will work have the ATA-6 (Ultra ATA/100) interface.
