Try looking on the bottom of the notebook. If there are any removable pieces, try unscrewing them. You might find the hardrive under one. It should be remopvable, and you can buy a new 2.5" drive off Newegg. I reccomend Western Digital, but i don't know if they make any Notebook drives.

The harddrive thing happened to my inspiron 9100. But strangely it only fails when I boot into windows. Booting into Suse linux, its fine.
For the bios, find the manufactor, I believe its phoenix, but I'm not sure. and do a search on google. There should be dozens of pages of codes.

My advice is based on personal experience. Effectiveness will vary. -
First open all the compartments on the bottom of the laptop, re-seat everything, remove ram, hard drive and any other cards. This is just to be save and if one things are loose chances are good that something else will be. Also make sure you remove the battery and power before doing anything.
Also though Western digital does not sell laptop drives I would NEVER BUY A WD hard drive. I've sent more back that any other drive with the exception of the quantum big foot line of drives.
1. Hitach/IBM or Seagate
2. Toshibia.
Don't buy anything else. And since your spending the money get a good 5400 RPM drive with 16 cache or if you can spend the extra coin get one of the new 7200 RPM drives.
Tick click seems to be common with some of the hitach/ibm drives. A friend has an acer tm240 and it really anonymous the s%%t out of me.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for your help.
Anyone knows if the drive is cover by the Acer warranty. It should be. The machine was release on January 05´ so it has to be in warranty.
Can I open it anyway or I will lost the warranty.
I will call service support, but been in Argentina, and the notebook from Europe -Germany-, first I want to get as much information as I can. The notebook wasnt release here yet.
Thanks again for your patience.
