    Hello!

I was wondering if there's anyone here who has the following laptop with the same specs:

    18,4"
    i5-450 @ 2,4 ~ 2,66GHz
    HD5650 @ 650/900MHz
    4Gb RAM
    2x500gb HDD 5400RPM

(you can find the exact 8943G-model on Google by typing either "lx.puj02.062 or 8943G-5454G1TBn".

    My questions are as follows:

-Having your GPU overclocked from the default 550/800, to 650/900, what are your peak temperatures when gaming, or benchmarking? (I am asking because I am not really sure in my case if 65 Celsius under 100% stress is too much or not.. Should I be worried or is that a safe number? Idle is 44C, gaming 54-65C depending on the game)

-I am noticing the case is warm, when should I worry about the case heating, or the CPU&GPU together overheating everything else (ambient temperatures, how do I get those?) ?

I feel like an idiot asking these questions here among gurus...

    Thanks in advance!

65C is perfectly safe, I can tell you that without owning your system.

As for ambient temperatures you can use HWmonitor to look up the temperature of your hard drive(s). Thats the only componant I would worry about overheating.

I think the GPU can heat up to 90c and you will still be in the safe zone more than that is quite high & as for the CPU I don't really know the safe range for the iXs but I would say as long as it is not throttling it is safe but as Meaker mentioned HDDs have low tolerance to heat than other components so lets say for your HDD 60c is bad ... mine heats up to 55~60c because I don't know why the hell Acer put my HDD right above my CPU in a quite not bulky casing :S ... but it is still running solid though for 1 year now

I just played Crysis Warhead for an hour, and checked my temperatures with HWMonitor.

    GPU 59C
    CPU was around 60C
    HDDs 55C ( I have 2 )
    Ambient max 73!

What I'd really like to know if the NZXT Cryo LX would be good for my laptop or if you could recommend some other cooling device?

There is no need, you are 30C below anything hot.
