    hey guys quick Q im on bios 1.2 and my hdd is burning or something can a bios upgrade cause this everything still works and i have a 6935g ..

    actually the smell is coming from where the hdd attaches

    I assume it's already done but nonetheless- BACKUP your data now.
    Remove the HDD (after you've backed up your data) and check the state of the connector on both mobo and the HDD.
    You've dismantled the laptop recently do you ma have damaged the connector while reassembling it.
