    Hello,
2 days ago I was advised to download a software called TuneUp, in order to make my laptop work better.

as a result i discovered that i cant hear any sound from my laptop apart from the recycle bin etc *wavs.

every time I try to load winamp the error "no sound devices found"
I try to install the device but it appears the device cant be found!

if i knew the proper name of the driver maybe i could browse it in acer's support website.
Also, even if i find it where do i put it???
    HELP sos

    thank you.

If you know your notebook model, go to the Acer website, and go to the support or downloads page. It should ask which model or what type of support or download you are looking for. From there, you should be able to find the sound driver for your notebook, and download it. It should be a self installing package, so you just need to click next on the prompts. It may require a restart, but then the sound should work.

Does Tuneup have a rollback option?

Tune Up has a rollback option, i did it but the problem was not solved.
I e -mailed them to thank them and have a go at them.

my laptop model is Acer Travel Mate 529 TXV.
I'm currently dowloading the audio driver form the website,
I hope it will work automatically once i run it.

    thank you both

Go to START ...Programs/Accesoires/System tools/Sytem restore.

And choose a date and time closest to right before your audio driver got messed up.

Good Luck ...... it should work.

Thank you ALL for your immediate replies.

I dowloaded the driver from the acer support website,

then I searched around where the devices are kept (my computer, right click, devices etc)

and during the device upgrade process it finally recognised the driver.

    Best:laugh:
