I have had an Acer 5110 for almost 6 months now...
    I have had nothing wrong
    until
    ...
About 1-2 weeks ago, this lappy started to have problem with the bluetooth.
Sometimes I could turn the bluetooth on, sometimes I couldn't.
    I just let it be.
    ...
Then about 3-4 days ago, it just stopped working!
    ...
    The problem is,
the computer doesn't even recognize the bluetooth to turn on anymore!
Everytime I switch the bluetooth latch to on, windows always says "No Bluetooth Device"!!!
When I go to Acer ePower Management, there's no bluetooth listed there anymore!
    ...
    HELP!
    ...
I already tried ways that I know to fix, but it didn't work.
    I tried:
    1) Reinstall the BT driver with the driver from acer website. X
    2) Follow windows troubleshooting wizard. X
    3) Uninstall completely, I deleted .tmp files, then install the driver from my backup disk. X
    4) Windows sytem restore to the point where it worked like charm. X
    ...
    Can somebody help me???
Is it possible that it's hardware failure??
    ...
    On device manager,
the bluetooth device is named "Bluetooth Bus Enumerator"
When I click properties, it says:
    Device Type : Bluetooth Devices
    Manufacturer: Broadcom
    Location : Unknown
    ...
When I look at "Bluetooth Devices" in Control Panel,
I open the "COM ports" and "Hardware" Tab, It's blank, Nothing's there!
    ...
Could it possibly be hardware failure??
Does Acer 1 yr standard warranty cover this??
Is there any way that I can fix it myself without having to send it to Acer and wait for a month!?
    ...
    Plz Help,
    Thank You!

It does sound like a hardware problem. Best to have it looked over by a service centre. there may be a very small possibility that the bluetooth card has become loosened from its socket, though I doubt it is that. If it is a hardware problem, then I think it's under the warranty, since it came preinstalled.

Try to reinstall the driver. But i do not think it is it. I think like the one before it is a hardware problem - the module is plugged in with a cable - so perhaps it is the plug corroding. Do not try to replug it - it is a hell of a work to get into a 5100 series to the bluetooth module - i tried - but after i reviewed a lot of pages i bought a usb module  . If you have guaranty - use it!

Sounds like HW to me though something out of the "blue"! suggestion ...

Check you have not over optimised your startup and processes ... turn all back on and check in particular for a file in the startup which appears as rundll32 as it may be associated with bluetooth.
