    hey guys i have an acer extensa 5630 and basically all i want to do is whipe it clean and start fresh ( i dont care about my documents etc)

    BUT

    i have kinda half installed a windows 7 upgrade kit on it,so when starting up i have the option of going with 7 or vista, (7 needs to be activated but i dont want to pay $)
    i just want to make the laptop have vista like when i brought it...

    so ive tried pressing alt f10 and startup and nothing happens...

    any ideas how i can do this?

    Well if your original OS is intact why not use the erecovery to restore from windows?

    Whenever i click acer erecovery management icon in all programs it says ' acer erecovery management has stopped working'.........any ideas? thanks

    Did you burn your recovery DVDs using eRecovery before attempting the upgrade? If so, use those!
