Since waking up from hibernation the other day the screen on my Travelmate 7730 does not light up properly anymore.

I have done a forced shutdown (pushed power button until computer powered down) and re-booted. The Acer logo appears EXTREMELY weakly and can hardly be seen, all the sounds and lights are like normal. Also, although almost invisible I can recognize that the PC reacts to things like ALT-CTRL-DEL (I can see that typical popup coming up) and the Windows key. Also, the network and bluetooth connection lights are on and connections seem to be active.

Thus, everything seems normal, except that the screen doesn't light up.

What could the problem be? What fixes are there other than giving my PC to Acer for several weeks?

fyi: graphics card is Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT Turbo Cache

Also, I do not have another monitor to which I can hook my Travelmate, just other laptops, but that doesn't help I guess.

    Thanks for any hints

Sounds like the screen may of disconnected a bit from the motherboard and causing the backlight to not work (Had this issue with a old advent laptop). Also try checking the brightness settings just to make sure.
