POSSIBLY yes, 7870M in MXM-A form.

NOW you get your internet cookie. We shall see.

    It's not a terrible price for a 6770M GDDR5 with ROM, it's a very nice price for a 7770M and it's a one of a kind if its a 7870M.

I'm still speechless! I don't have an MXM 3 laptop, but with such price I'm more than tempted to buy it :D I'm eager to hear from you what it turned out to be in the end :) I think that it would be at least 7850M, and it doesn't looks like to be shopped. Damn! Let's not forget that ASUS made slightly bigger GTX 260M MXM-II as well as GTS 360M (which has few more mm on top of 260M). Given that MXM-A is wider than MXM-II, it's not that much of surprise, it just requires someone to make it. Apparently/hopefully HP did it. Did I said that I can't wait? :D

And thanks for the cookie - omnomnom :D

The 5935G deserves some love since it did reprogram an HD7970M......

The 7870M core is not THAT power hungry and you can push things a little closer with ES cards anyway.

I'll not be surprised or disappointed at a 7770M though.

Might even get a nice 1366x768 display (I bought the worst possible one to get it running), any suggestions on that front actually?

Yeah, 7770M would be a welcome bump as well. It's just that 78xxM would better :D

It's a bit late now, I'll check it tomorrow. Are you willing to rewire the cable for higher-res or 1366x768 is fine?

And probably we'll need a new topic, since we are way off :)

I once killed a 5935G trying to rewire the cabling..... 1366x768 is fine, the one I have is grainy and horrible.

    I can't start a new topic since I am a reseller.

Hmm, Meaker, it seems, that on that page, that you posted about "6770M" on ebay, it is trully 7770M AMD chip on PCB (as says google). But, this is only a photo. Strange.

Guys, get it while you can, I doubt that you'll see something like it anytime soon, if at all!

The rewiring seems to be pretty straight-forward, unlike mine. But as you say that it wasn't successful, maybe they have shorted something on the board intentionally. As for the displays - CMO usually makes the faster ones with not bad at all quality, while AUO are the best all around, LG are usually slow, but with nice specs, I wont get myself Samsung, but it's just me. Of course it varies from one display to another, but that's what you can expect in general. It seems that there are no premium 16:9 low-res displays, as it was with 16:10. There were some pretty descent 1280x800 and 1440x900 2CCFL ones. Which one to pick - CMO or AUO. I'll see if there's 1ch LVDS 1600x900, it might sound strange, but so far I've found 3 different displays which should require 2ch LVDS, but are listed as 1ch. There was a guy looking for 14,1" one and there was 14,1" 1600x900 1ch LVDS with nice specs. There's also 15,4" 1680x1050 1ch. LVDS, but it wasn't anything special. As far as I know, no one have tried either one, though.

Just waiting on customs clearance now..... and a replacement motherboard when it gave up on me :( Also got a cheap subwoofer since that had gone too.

That should come wednesday though so I'll be able to give a report soon hopefully.

The 5935G uses a strange motherboard connector with very tiny solder points so it's not easy to work with.

Isn't there a compatible model which has slide-in wires, and not soldered ones?

    Good news and bad news.

Bad news: its a 6770m 1gb gddr5, my motherboard is not here yet :(
Good news: it has a bios chip

So actually in the end its a nice value 6770m which should be plug and play.

Significant update: So I talked to the seller (who has excellent comms by the way), said the card was different to the picture but matched the description so I was happy, but asked where the picture was from.

She said that was the other two and proceeded to test one of the cards in an alienware for me and this is the result:

So we agreed on a price for the two and I have them coming which means I will have:

    HD6770M
    HD7777Mx2

Along with only one system.... two lonely cards...

The cooling system would implode! Better off with an E0 x9100. I'm pretty sure it just wont boot any way.

If you want to go Q9200 + 7770M the 7738G would be the best option.

    Step1: Run patcher
    Step2: open refresh rate editor.
    Step3: Copy your default profile
Step4: Add second profile, paste your current profile into that one.
Step5: Edit the original profile to new refresh rate

You need to keep a 60hz profile to prevent the drivers getting confused, you want to edit the first profile for high refresh rates so games will use it.

Hi again Meaker, i need your help i bought 7770M card by same ebay seller you bought too... i talked with her a lot befrore to buy vga trying to be sure it was the same yours... After i paid she said that for a mistake on availability there was same card but with blue pcb... i told to her that it was for apple but she shipped to me anyway. i paid 41 euros for importation tax and now it is not recognized nor by bios or windows on acer 5935g even i choose by bios discrete , switchable or integrated the only one recognized is intel. in managing devive is no other hardware.
I want to try i flash with your bios if you can extract it with gpuz or atiflash.
Can you do this for me?
    Thanks

Hi guys, I'd like to know how valuxin integrated the vbios. I have a toshiba romless card hd4650 DDR3 MXM II and a vbios, I opened my system bios with Phoenix Bios Editor and I added the vbios to Option Rom, built and saved the bios without errors. Is it correct? I didn't make any hex modification

To flash the bios you need a .WPH file (which contain information for bios flasher). As I understood, you opened & edited .ROM file. You done all right, but if you are going to flash it - flasher will give a error. How to solve this issue: open an old version of .ROM and .WPH in hex, compare them (you should find additional code in WPH which usually starts from 2000 string). Then, copy an additional code, open your new mod .ROM, paste the code to the string of origin and safe the new bios with .WPH extension. Your new and old WPH bios file should have the same size!!

    Hello everybody!
Kontini I have Aspire 5739g too and trying to make Ati HD6770m (green PCB) working. Yes we don't have any .ROM file to flash laptop bios. I just opened .WPH in Phoenix bios editor I got some warnings too but I added bios for HD6770m as a OPROM05 and everything seems to be fine. I did blind flash (I'm still waiting for the card and I have none mxm3.0a card to put into lap) after few minutes laptop restarted by itself and works like before. Let me know if you got picture on the screen. I hope now I'll just put card and job's done.
    P.S. I was using modded 3310 bios.

Kontini I don't know if your card works now but mine does like a charm. Finally I got card and as
I thought that was plug and play, I got picture straight.
Valuxin many thanks for your bright idea to put vbios into laptop bios. I hope now Acer 5739g will work with most romless Ati cards.

P.S. to unpack archive use part004 as a first.

Hehe Meaker that is nice result in 3dmark for generic VGA card :)
For now I'm happy with mine new configuration (big jump from aspire 7720g with 9600m GT) but nice to know that is not too expensive alternative for the future like your monster.
My Aspire 5739g has fault but not serious for me. All lights (power button, + -,and player's button) after plugging charger coming on and flash all the time. I can even hear fan rotating for a second after plugging charger and I can eject DVD. When I press power button laptop starts normally only one diode (left one) in the front changing color from red to blue. Battery is dead and it's the same if I take it off. If somebody knows what it could be please let me know.

Yeah, it's odd it does not detect the 7770M properly, I guess it just has not had many submissions.

I've not recieved an apology for your previous behavior. As it turned out there were 2 people asking for them and I had sent it to the other so rather than politely asking me to check you start posting accusing me of things.

All my acer work is done at my own expense and I don't get any compensation for providing support here. So excuse me if I ask for a little respect from those asking for my help.
