I have an acer aspire 5742 laptop, which i really enjoyed for about 2 years, problems is, about two weeks ago, i accidentally stepped on it and it smashed the screen. I tried using the HDMI cable to bypass my screen and just hook it up to my tv, but still nothing. It just shuts down about about 10 seconds. I've went out an bought a new laptop, which i love, but i would love to try and get my pictures and stuff off my old one?? Is there a plug i can just plug into the hard drive from my acer and connect it to my new one? So i can gain access to the stuff on my old hard drive? Any help on this would be AMAZING !! Thanks so much![]()

The simplest solution would be to buy a SATA to USB bridge.
These are relatively cheap and would do the job fine
