hello, I have an Acer 5102 WLMi and when I am working the laptop suddenly is off (the laptop is not hot and I have enough battery) and often when I want to start my laptop Windows can not start and I receive a message from the Bios. I think something is wrong with my hardware. I still have gurantee 3 weeks, I received a new mainboard, but still the error exists.

Who know what is the matter ? I am very thankful for help. Here a 2 pics.

My Laptop got that yesterday. 2-day-old. Got an exchange for a brand new one. The tech there said it is a failed hard drive.

Have you looked at what the bios sees. Hit F2 (I think) during the boot process. What does it say for HDD Model name?
Under the Boot heading, is 1 SATA and does it match the model name?

Have they just sent you a blank hard disk? Do you need to re-install from the recovery DVD's you originally made (we hope)?

That's interesting, as my 5102 has a SATA disk, whereas yours has an ATA one, but it seems to be supported in the bios. The internal cables must be different, but presumably it's OK.

Maybe take the CD drive out and see if the machine behaves better? Really only leaves the memory.

I think you need to get the whole machine back to Acer, somehow.
