I was connecting some speakers to my acer aspire P163w , today and must have stupidly done something because my mouse had refuse to work - I tried and tried - disconnecting , rebooting the sys, but nothing

Luckily my mouse comes with alternative plug ins whereby i can either use the usb port or the port located for the mouse .. By using the usb i was able to use the mouse. Is this a good way of using the system , will i encore any damage later down the line?

I tried to connect ACER but they are useless both in the customer service technical support whereby all they keep saying is " BRING THE PC IN" or i would recieve a message on the phone saying " I have called outside the opening hours"

    Please advise :(

There will be no damage to your system if you use the mouse with USB. I don't see how that will damage your system seeing as the mouse was designed for it. I am going to assume you have a wireless mouse and that the mouse doesn't work. Have you checked the battery levels on it? Have you tried to resync the mouse with the computer? What mouse do you have? Maybe someone who has the same mouse on this forum could help you if you were a little more specific.

    Hi

Thank you for responding to my post - I dont have a wireless mouse , its a mouse that has two types of connections whereby i can either use the port or the usb

I am most certain that i may have damaged the port, when trying to connect the speakers .. Anyone know if i have?
