First I tried to update bios, with the correct version on my acer aspire 1652 . Ofcourse it got wrong. and my laptop collapsed.(black screen, no bios, no nothing). I thought that was the end of my laptop, but after 3 days of documentation I managed to reinstall bios with a floppy on usb, after hours of trying. :p If anyone is intrested about this I can give more details.

But know I have another problem. :( After I updated bios a hard disk password was activated. I never had a bios or a hdd password enabled before. ( the lock is written on the disk so removing bios battery or something like that are useless) Moreover I have very important documents on this hdd, and I need to recover them. I found some programs that promise to unlock my hdd ;) but all of them need to destroy all the data written on hdd. I mailed acer service about this problem but no answer yet.
So if anyone knows the solution for this problem please help. :)

Did you try the default acer password I think it is something like 000000, basically it is a sequence of zeros. Outside of trying that then you may have to wait and see what the acer tech people tell you to do.

have you tried resetting the bios.
remove power lead and the battery, then hold down the power button for 15 seconds.this should reset the bios and clear the passwords. :)

I tried thousands of combinations but nothing worked. its not related to bios. I've tried my hdd on another laptop and asks the same for password. I can not boot anything neither floppy or cd.

If that is the case then you need to contact Acer or the manufacturer for the hard drive. I'm sorry, but we cannot help you break a password that is a very common anti-theft device. That information cannot be made public.
