    I have Acer TravelMate4000,but my bios is locked,i dont know what bios is model?is he have some backdoor?all i know is that Phonix and nothing else,does these model have batery for bios or not?if anyone have same information please mail me [email protected] THANKS

    If you've locked the BIOS and forgot your password, you're gonna have to send it in to Acer for service and have them remove it for you. You're gonna have to give proof that this is your notebook, just so they know it's not a stolen unit. Pretty much all new notebooks have new security measures to stop the BIOS password from being removed by an end-user. Previously, it just required the CMOS battery to be removed, but now it needs some special software/hardware to remove the password (usually only available to service techs). If you bought this unit with the BIOS password, contact the seller to get the password, if they can't provide it to you, it's most likely stolen.
