    Greetings all,

I have a Acer Aspire 4755G-2634G75Mnks BLACK/W7. Nice gaming laptop. It can even run Tekken 5 and Soul Calibur 2 using PCSX2 with 50+ FPS without frame skipping.

I tried to connect the this laptop to HDTV Sony Bravia 32V via HDMI.

While not yet entered the Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, this unit is capable of displaying what on its monitor to HDTV. When it entered into the Windows 7 desktop, the display on the HDTV screen is lost and can only display on the laptop screen. I've also tried to look whether HDTV is detected, but it is still not recognized on any settings.

    I've installed the latest drivers.

When I entered safe mode, the content in the monitor is cloned on the TV succesfully.

Is it the HDMI port blocked by Windows7?

Are there any special drivers or special settings to enable HDMI in Windows 7?

    thanks in advance!

What are your settings in windows once the monitor is plugged in via HDMI.

In Control Panel>Display, then on the left click change display settings (do this with the monitor plugged in), what does say, is the display extended, duplicated or set to only display on one screen or the other?

It only shows one display, the laptop monitor. When I told it to detect something, it doesn't detect anything. On forced detection, on intel's HD graphics side, it only shows option to force detect VGA, on nVidia GT540M side it shows options to force detect VGA or composite. No HDMI at all.

Like I have said, whenever I am not in full boot of Windows 7 (safe mode, BIOS), the TV can show the same thing on my laptop. So it's not the cable and the TV. It is something loaded when fully booted into Windows 7.

Did you install or reinstall the proper drivers?

I had a similar detection issue with my Acer 5750 that used the HD 3000 integrated graphics and I fix it by reinstalling the video drivers.

For thei integrated graphics or for the nVidia graphics? Are those from acer's site or from their respective sites?

I tried connecting through VGA, and it works. But the resolution on both laptop and the HDTV is only 1024 x 768, and the setting only shows one monitor with split 1|2 on it, not two different monitors!
