Here, on startup, the Acer logo background(the white part) is tinted red, but quickly fades after a second or so. This started a while back and I didn't think much of it. Now here lately, the display has been flickering slightly, but the picture doesn't go completely away, it just flickers. Then, starting tonight, the screen completely blacked out, but the computer was still running. I then noticed you could see the display, but it was so dark you had to look REAL closely under the light. When I restarted the computer, the picture returned, but then blacked out again, but you could still see the display when you strained and had good light on it.

Could the LCD screen be going bad or what? And how would I be able to fix it?

Your backlight is dying/dead. You can replace either the backlight itself or the entire screen assembly. While the backlight on its own is much cheaper than an entire LCD panel/assembly, it is significantly more finicky to install. Furthermore, I don't think Acer provides service manuals for either operation.
