So I just reformatted my hard drive with an xp disk of my own and used all the drivers from acers website, but haven't been able to get the onboard NIC to work. It is the broadcom netxtreme 5788 and I've tried using the driver from acers website as well as the driver from broadcoms website but to no avail.
The NIC will see that it is plugged in, but will not accept an internet connection. I can connect using my other computer on the same cable so its neither my internet nor the cable.
I looked all over the internet and tried everything I can think of to fix this, but haven't been able to get it to work. Help!
