Hello, I have Windows Vista 64bit on my Acer Aspire 7520-5311, I thought I had upgraded all my drivers, but I NEVER use my dvdrom drive...

Well I have ordered a dvd that I really need to use on my computer and it won't work at all... I looked in Device Manager and it shows "HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20N ATA DEVICE" and "YPY EN81IZS SCSI CdRom Device" and they both say "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be currupted or missing."

I went to the Acer Europe website for 7520 ( http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_7520.html) and I dont see DVDROM drivers under the 64bit column. Am I blind?? How can I fix this issue?

    Thanks ahead!!

This is most likely problem with windows installation. It should automatically detect cd/dvd/bd drives. Are you using some disk emulation software like daemon-tools? To me YPY EN81IZS SCSI CdRom Device looks fake. If you are, then you could try uninstalling the program, just in case is is maybe causing trouble.

I uninstalled Daemon tools, then I uninstalled the drivers for the HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA ATA device, then scanned for hardware changes, windows tried to reload drivers automatically but it says it failed "Device driver software was not successfully installed"

Please consult with your device manufacturer for assistance getting this device installed...
