    Hello guys I got this laptop for very cheap without battery and HDD, anyway I think there is something missing that connects to the motherboard that is shown in the picture but I have no clue what it might be?

    looks like a mini-pci-e card slot where the wifi card goes unless it is a spare slot, can you see any antenna wires?

    Im pretty sure its not the wifi card, the wifi card is down below the fan I think as shown in this pic on a 5100 from insidemylaptop.com

    It could be for a few thing, TV turner, Turbo Memory, ect.

    it is for the wifi card. that model can use a mini-pci or minicard wireless card.

    some boards do not have both connectors, some do.

    Thanks man for clearing that up.. So then there is nothing missing from my laptop since I already have the wifi card?! Awesome!

    It might have been for the bluetooth as well since it was optional with this model
