When the computer starts up and is on the acer screen press ALT+F10 together this should (hopefully as long as you have not deleted your hidden recovery partition) take you into a recovery console which will then enable you to restore your system.

If when pressing ALT+F10 it won't work, you many need to go into your bios and ensure D2D recovery is enabled.

If you've deleted the recovery partition, then you may need to call acer and buy some backup disks, or do you know someone with a copy of windows, if you do then you can use this, then use your product key that came with the laptop.

So, without the hidden partition or recovery disks (that you should have burnt).....you canno't recover your Operating System because there is nothing to recover from.

Best to contact Acer and see if they will sell you recovery disks.

    More burnt fingers. Sigh.

    Good luck,
    Theo

I think they tried to burn the disks thinking they had burnt alright but they don't work.
